What is eyelash extension?

Eyelash extensions are a cosmetic treatment in which artificial eyelashes, such as silk eyelashes, are applied to the natural lash line. The special adhesive dries very quickly and is invisible afterward. The right length, thickness, and curl ensure a completely new look and added volume. False eyelashes typically fall out after two to four weeks.

What you should consider when getting eyelash extensions

Lash extensions with individual lashes offer the most natural look. Here, you can choose the number of false lashes that best suits your desired result.

Depending on the client's preference, fake lashes are selected in the client's natural hair color. The most popular are classic black.

When choosing the material, synthetic eyelashes are clearly the top priority. With mink hair lash extensions, for example, you never know exactly what conditions the animals are kept in. However, it should not come into contact with water for the first 48 hours after treatment until it has fully cured. Waterproof mascara or oil-based eye makeup can also loosen the fake lashes prematurely. If you still want to style your eyelashes, it's best to apply mascara only to the tips.

Instructions - how to apply artificial eyelashes correctly

Beautiful eyelashes take time. For the perfect look, you should plan on 1.5 to 2 hours per appointment. Here's how the false eyelashes are applied:

Then it is time to stick the individual hairs with thetweezers. Together with the individual lashes, the adhesive forms the basis of the eyelash extension. This special adhesive ensures that the synthetic Silk Lashes adhere firmly to the lash line for several weeks. The adhesive takes less than a second to dry. TheCompetition GlueIt provides a secure hold in just half a second. However, the adhesive must be applied even faster with the 1:1 or volume technique, which requires considerable experience and speed with the tweezers.

How long does eyelash extension last?

The extensions last approximately four to six weeks and, with the volume technique, gradually fall out along with your natural hair. To ensure false eyelashes last as long as possible, there are a few things to keep in mind:

This ensures that everyday residues such as dust and dead skin cells are reliably removed from the lashes and gently soothes the sensitive eye area. Carefully massaged into the eyelashes, the eyelash shampoo keeps the Emmi® lashes supple for a long time. Before eyelash extensions, you can effectively remove makeup and eyeliner residue from your natural lashes and facial skin with the Clean Up Solution. We recommend daily use.
If possible, it's best to sleep on your back. Pressing false eyelashes into your pillow will reduce their longevity and deform them.
A refill, i.e. filling up your eyelashes, should be done approximately every four weeks to maintain an even result.

Removing makeup with artificial eyelashes

Eye makeup is best removed gently and without applying pressure to the adhesive areas. Use a lint-freeCelletteand oil-free make-up remover, you can easily wipe off eye shadow from the sides.False eyelashesIf you want to style your lashes with mascara, you should make sure that your cleansing products don't contain oil, as this can damage the adhesive. However, it's usually sufficient to focus on eyeliner and eyeshadow.

Eyelash extensions for sensitive eyes

Intolerances or irritations caused by the solvent in the adhesive are quite rare. If you know you have sensitive eyes, you should test the fake lashes on your client before performing the full treatment.

Eyelash extension with glasses or contact lenses

In general, eyelash extensions are also suitable for people who wear glasses or contact lenses. Especially when wearing glasses, your eyelashes need to be particularly emphasized during styling to be shown off. However, you should remove your contact lenses during the application, as you'll need to keep your eyes closed for extended periods. This can be uncomfortable with contact lenses for extended periods.

Are eyelash extensions harmful to your own eyelashes?

If the extensions are applied incorrectly or poor-quality products are used, they can seriously damage your natural lashes. Therefore, it's best to seek out a professional eyelash studio that takes the time to provide appropriate advice and test for any possible intolerances beforehand.
