What is a primer gel?
A primer gel or base gel provides aoptimal adhesionthegelModelling on the natural nail. The bonding gel is used as a base for theBuilding gels, also known as modeling gels or builder gels. It has athin-viscous consistencyand can therefore be easily worked into the nail. The adhesive gel is economical to use as it is applied very thinly. For optimal hold of the following builder layer, the evaporating layer is not removed after curing. The gel is best removed with a shortPaint brushMassage into the nail. How do I apply the primer gel correctly?
Primer gel must bond perfectly to the nail and is therefore very thin. The nail surface consists of tinyHorn particles, which usually form a smooth, protective layer. Nail gel, however, does not adhere to smooth surfaces; it needs a rough surface to adhere. How do I best prepare the natural nail for the base gel? We recommend either aBuffer fileor use a buffer for preparation. Of course, the cuticles must be thoroughly removed beforehand. Then, with the buffer, carefully file the top layer of the nail until it is matte. Caution is advised here, because if you use too much force or brush over the same area too often, you can easily file the nail too thin. Then it will be verypressure sensitiveand often perceives the heat during curing as painful.
Filing roughens the top layer of the nail plate. In detail, this means that the horny scales stand up, providing a perfect base for the base gel. To ensure the gel can penetrate between the horny plates, we recommend a shortPrimer gel brushto use. By theshort bristlesYou can massage the thin-viscosity gel in small, circular movements with a little pressure. The base gel is only applied close to the cuticle. If you can reach the skin with the brush, you can remove the residue with aRosewood chopsticksRemove before curing. Wherever nail gel comes into direct contact with the skin, the first lifts will appear after just a few hours.
Once the primer gel has been thoroughly applied, it cures immediately. Please refer to the curing time specified for your specific light type.UV devicesusually require a longer curing time thanUV/LED combination devicesor pure LED light curing devices. Curing creates a sweat layer, the so-called inhibition layer. This is crucial for the next step and the foundation for the subsequent buildup. The sticky layer should never be washed off with cleaner after curing.
Can I leave out the primer gel?
Each nail behaves differently when artificialNail extensionsThere are many customers in the nail salon for whom theBuilding geladheres optimally to the natural nail without additional base coat or primer. As a regular customer at a nail salon, you usually have your own customer card on which the nail designer notes the characteristics of your nails and determines the best gel combination. If you are taking certain medications or have particularly oily cuticles, you will not be able to avoid using a base gel. The best thing to do is simply do a test run without a base gel. But don't be disappointed if the builder layer can be easily peeled off the nail after just a few days. Then the UV gel was not able to bond optimally with the nail plate. At your next appointment, you can simply discuss this with your nail designer and look for a suitable solution.
