1-phase gel
1-phase gels – also known as base gels or all-in-one gels – combine primer, builder, and topcoat in a single product. This significantly simplifies and speeds up nail modeling without compromising on stability and durability.

In a classic 3-phase gel modeling process, different gels are used for the individual steps: A primer or adhesion gel forms the base, a builder gel provides shape and stability, and a sealing gel completes the modeling. For certain looks, cover gel, French gel, or color gel can also be used.
Primer gel – also known as adhesion gel or base gel – is applied in a thin layer to the prepared natural nail and helps the subsequent layers of product adhere. Builder gel is then applied to provide shape and strength, and depending on the product, can also be used to reinforce or extend the nail.
A 1-phase gel combines several functions of gel modeling in one product. It can be used for priming, building, and sealing, thereby reducing the number of different gels. The current emmi®NAIL structure therefore classifies 1-phase gels as their own type of gel based on application.
Cover gel, also known as makeup or camouflage gel, is used to visually even out or conceal the nail bed. Natural rosé, nude, or milky shades, for example, are suitable for subtle overlays, French nails, or as a base for baby boomer designs.
