Gel types overview
If you want to extend your nails with UV gel, there are various techniques you can use. If you want to strengthen your natural nails, you can start directly with an all-in-one gel. For extravagant stilettos, you need a perfect adhesive layer, a stable structure, and a glossy seal. For nails that only appear longer, you can combine a makeup gel that matches your skin tone with a radiant white French gel. Below, we'll explain the differences between the gels and which gel is used for what. Extending nails with gel, the currentColor gel trendsfollow or stableNatural nail reinforcement? What is the difference between adhesive gel and primer gel?
Adhesive gel andPrimer gelare thin gels and provide aoptimal connection between buildup and natural nail. You will be inUV deviceor inUV/LED devicehardened and form the basis for the next gel layer. Due to their thin consistency, they penetrate the slightly roughened surface of the natural nail and anchor themselves as they harden. After hardening, an adhesive layer, also called an inhibition layer, forms, which in turn provides a good base for the builder gel to adhere to.
The name varies depending on the manufacturer. The term base gel or bonding gel is also used.brittle or thin nailsWe definitely recommend using a base gel. Lifting tends to develop quickly, especially with soft nails, because the nail moves more, creating more tension on the gel. For very oily nails or when taking certain medications, even a base gel may not be sufficient. In these cases, we recommend using aPrimerto use. Primer is applied thinly to the natural nail. It forms a barrier against the so-called re-greasing. The resulting adhesive layer allows the priming gel to adhere well.
Building gel - large selection for every application
The emmi®NAILBuilding gelbrings stabilityfor long nailsand isfor beginners and commercial usersequally suitable. Builder gel is used for modeling the C-curve in the second layer. A C-curve in nail modeling refers to the curvature of the nail when viewed from the front. The stress point in the perfect shape of a gel nail is the point where the longitudinal and transverse bends of the nail meet in the middle. A balanced C-curve with a good stress point ensures stability during nail extensions and is a basic part of every nail designer's basic knowledge.
Builder gel is medium to thick viscous, which means itdoes not run into the nail fold, but stays on the fingernail until the desired shape is achieved. The vegan acrylic gel or polygel is a very stable builder gel. It is taken out of the jar with a spatula and applied to the nail with a brush. It takes a little practice, but provides the stability of acrylic while remaining flexible like gel. A medium-firm builder gel is more suitable for beginners. We offer a large selection of builder gels in various sizes. Whether as a trial size or bulk quantity, our gels are available in 5ml, 15ml, 30ml or even in 250ml, 500ml or 1000ml.
What is 1-phase gel used for?
1-phase gelIt is used as a base gel, builder gel or sealant gel. It is particularly suitablefor beginnersbecause you can use the same gel for each layer. Due to its medium viscosity, itsmooth by itselfand shows already in the first steps in nail modellingprofessional resultsThe single-phase gel requires no additional primer and is often used for refilling. Refilling involves filling the artificial nail up to the edge of the cuticle after a few weeks.
All-In-One Gel is also frequently used in podiatry. For example, when working on small toenails or attaching a nail brace, the 1-Phase Gel can save time andmake foot care easier. For optimal adhesion of the 1-phase gel, a primer can be used. If you want to extend your fingernails in the shape of a stiletto, it's best to use stable builder gels. At emmi®NAIL, you'll find 1-phase gels in clear, light pink, or milky pink.Diamond Dreams WonderEven small imperfections in the nail bed can be easily concealed with camouflage gels or the single-phase camouflage gels. Combined with a French gel, they look particularly natural and elegant.
What do I use French gel for?
AFrench gelis used in the classic French modelingas a white nail tipDepending on your taste, you can apply this smile line diagonally, straight, or with a pattern. To achieve a clean application, useBrush & Swirl. It takes a little practice. A thin-viscosity French gel is easy to work into the nail edges, but also runs quickly into the nail fold. For beginners, we recommend medium-viscosity French gels, as they allow more time for the line. In the emmi®NAIL online shop, you will find French gels indifferent consistenciesand can conveniently order on account.
Why not try aColor gel as French tip. Also aGlitter gelcan conjure up a great effect on the nail in the right color and quantity. It is important that the French gel is applied as thinly as possible. This facilitates curing and ensures an even shape of the nail in the nail design without a thick bulge at the nail tip. If necessary, it is better to apply the French gel in two thin layers rather than in one thick layer. The emmi®NAIL French gels have good coverage and range from milky subtle tohighly opaqueAvailable in the nail shop.
What is Cover Gel?
ACover Gelis acolored UV gelwhich is used to cover spots and irregularities in the nail bed. It is also called camouflage gel or make-up gel because it has the same effect on the fingernail. If you have a short nail bed, you canExtension with tip or templateApply the cover gel up to the tip of the nail.optically lengthens the nail bedand makes the nail appear more elegant. For particularly long fingernails, it also makes the relationship between the nail bed and the nail tip more harmonious.

For a trendy nude look, the camouflage gel can also be used as a full cover instead of a color gel. Individual nail polishes create a glamorous highlight.rhinestonesor a tip withGlitter and sequins. There are no limits to your imagination.
What do I use sealing gel for?
ASealing gelbecomesas a final layerUsed in nail modeling. It ensures that the nail art is protected and the nail design maintains its shine for a long time. Once the build-up layer has been modeled smoothly and evenly, the thin sealing gel can be applied directly to the sweat layer or inhibition layer. If the build-up still has dents or unevenness, it must first be smoothed with a file. The sealant will then adhere to the roughened base.
In the emmi®NAIL Shop you will find sealing gelwith and without sweat layerThe UV sealant is significantly thinner than the sealing gel and is applied directly from the bottle with a brush. It cures without an adhesive layer and is available in many different versions. The sealant from the bottle is available in clear, glitter, milky pink, and many other variations.
