There's a suitable gel for every phase of nail modeling – and that's precisely the key to perfect results. While primer gels provide the necessary adhesion and form the base, builder gels shape and stabilize the nail. Afterwards, various special gels are used depending on the desired look: Cover gels visually even out the nail bed, French gels define classic tips, and Babyboomer gels enable soft, natural color gradients.
Sealing gels provide the finishing touch, giving the modeling its shine and reliably protecting it. If you want to work particularly efficiently, choose 1-phase gels, which combine several steps in one product. For maximum stability, acrylic gels offer an ideal solution, while pedicure gels are specially adapted to the requirements of toenails.

Nail gel is a light-curing material for nail modeling. It is sculpted or applied and subsequently cured under a suitable UV/LED lamp. Depending on the type of gel, it performs various functions such as adhesion, building, visual masking, or sealing.
The most important types of gel include base gel or adhesion gel, builder gel, cover and camouflage gel, French gel, and top coat gel. In addition, there are, for example, 1-phase gels, fiberglass gels, acrylic gels, and other special gels for specific applications.
Base gel forms the adhesive layer between the natural nail and the enhancement. Building gel is then used for shaping and stabilizing the nail. Builder gels can be used for natural nail reinforcement as well as – depending on the product – for nail extension.
A 1-phase gel combines several steps of a gel manicure into one product. Instead of using different gels for priming, building, and sealing, the same gel can be used for multiple modeling steps.
For beginners, gels with an easily controllable consistency and self-leveling properties are often particularly easy to work with.
