Filing with a nail file requires a lot of time and effort. Gel or acrylic nails can be removed much more effectively with an electric file.
When purchasing a nail file, there are two important technical performance data:
What do I need to consider when buying a nail file?
The speed of a nail file indicates the maximum number of revolutions per minute . This is the speed at which the file rotates. The faster the file rotates, the faster the remaining nail file or cuticle is removed.
However, to achieve high speeds, the motor must also be very robust . Therefore, the price of a milling cutter is always proportional to its speed.
- Revolutions per minute (RPM)
- Milling performance
The milling power of a milling motor indicates how much power the motor has . For acrylic modeling or heavily calloused cuticles, it is recommended to choose a device with a high motor power . The grinding power is usually specified in watts (W).

A quick-release system makes it easier for you to change bit attachments during treatment.
The left and right rotation allows both right- and left-handed people to work easily and without putting strain on their backs .
For additional convenience, you can use a foot pedal . This allows you to focus on filing while adjusting the cutter's power.
For mobile work, emmi®NAIL also offers a cordless drill without the hassle of a power cable. This professional cordless drill in black is extremely lightweight. Thanks to the included lithium-ion battery, it can be used for mobile work both in the included hip mount and on your nail table in the studio. You'll also appreciate the low -vibration and extremely quiet handpiece .
The Emmi Quick III PLUS file offers the option of connecting a foot pedal with speed control . The high-performance electric nail files from emmi®NAIL are suitable for manicures and pedicures and are popular with professionals and beginners alike. The higher the speed, the better the ability to handle even stubborn nails with less effort .
Bit attachments - Which bit is the right one?
Choosing the right bit attachment depends first on the intended use . Do I want to remove old nail polish, remove excess cuticles, or polish my nails? Milling bit attachments are also available in different materials , which affect the application.

Diamond bits are coated with a thin layer of diamonds and are best suited for working on natural nails . Excess callus can be removed particularly effectively. However, this requires a great deal of sensitivity, as diamond bits work very effectively and quickly. They are also used for roughening natural nails before nail sculpting and, of course, for working on artificial nails.

Carbide milling bits with cross-cut teeth are among the classic attachments. They are used exclusively for working on the modeling, as otherwise the natural nail could be damaged.
They can be used to trim the shaped nail, file the tip transition, remove sculpted nails, or work on the underside of the nail. They have a high removal rate ; differences exist in the metal alloy, coating, and toothing. These bits are usually identified by different colors or color rings.
The teeth usually become finer toward the tip. This makes working with the bit easier, and the thin side can also be used at low speeds. To prevent the bit from sticking to the nail and causing damage to the natural nail, the speed should be at least 20,000 rpm .

Cylindrical carbide bits with cross-cutting are particularly well-suited for removing old nail art . They can also be used at lower speeds, making them particularly suitable for beginners . The cutters are often chamfered at the edges, which prevents injuries if you get too close to the nail edge.

Titanium-coated bits are characterized by their very high resilience and durability . The rounded tip ensures safe work on artificial nails. This cutter is ideal for professional use, removing gel and acrylic fillings while maintaining high efficiency. It is also popular for treating calluses . It can be used wet or dry. It is characterized by its very high wear resistance and excellent heat dissipation . It is also very comfortable to use by the client.

Ceramic milling bits are very durable attachments and retain their sharpness for a very long time. They have good stock removal performance and generate little heat during filing. Ceramic bits can withstand higher temperatures during grinding than metal bits and therefore remain sharp even after extended use. They can be chemically disinfected but not cleaned in an ultrasonic bath.

Sandpaper sanding belts can be used for working on natural and artificial nails. Sanding belts require a mandrel bit. The sanding sleeves are attached to this bit and can be disposed of after use. Emmi-Nail sanding belts are available in "fine," "medium," and "coarse" grades. When using sanding sleeves, particular attention must be paid to the speed, as this can generate higher heat .

The Manicure Disc is ideal for manicures and pedicures. With the attachment, you can trim artificial nails and even remove calluses. The interchangeable blades in different grits also make the Emmi®-Nail Manicure Disc very flexible in its application .

Professional disinfection
It is particularly important to disinfect or kill germs and remove dirt that has accumulated on the bits.
First, tackle the coarse dirt with the cleaning brush for milling bits.
An ultrasonic cleaning device with the appropriate concentrate is suitable for disinfection. It removes even stubborn dirt and disinfects the attachments for hygienic cleaning before the next customer.
