In the beauty and nail industry, there are always innovations and regulatory changes that can cause uncertainty. One of these changes concerns the ban on TPO (trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide) in UV-curing gels from September 1, 2025, under EU Regulation 2024/197.

But don't worry: We have prepared for this early on and will ensure that you continue to receive high-quality and safe products.

Why was TPO banned?

TPO is a photoinitiator used in UV-curing gels to ensure fast and efficient curing. However, TPO has been removed from the Cosmetics Regulation by EU regulators due to potential health and environmental concerns. This means that products containing this ingredient must be phased out or reformulated.

Our measures for your safety

We anticipated this step for some time and have adapted our product range accordingly. Many of our UV gels are already TPO-free and offer the same familiar quality , durability, and curing speed. For the few products that still contain TPO, we are in the process of adapting the formulations to comply with the new regulations.

What does this mean for you as a customer?

For you, hardly anything changes! Our products remain safe , efficient, and user-friendly . You can continue to rely on our proven UV gels, as we continually work on innovative and compliant solutions.

Will there be any changes to the use of UV gels?

The application of UV gels remains fundamentally unchanged. However, some new formulations may have the following adjustments:

• Curing time: Some new formulations may require a slightly longer curing time, especially with weaker UV lamps. All curing times can be found directly on the product page in our online shop.
• Compatibility: If you are using very old UV lamps, it may be necessary to switch to a lamp with an optimized wavelength (e.g. LED/UV technology).
• Consistency & processing: In a few cases, small differences in viscosity or handling may be noticeable, but this does not have a negative impact on the application.
